Luka Filipovic: The Union University Unicorn [VIDEO]

Luka Filipovic is a freshman at Union, and he’s slated to play for the men’s basketball team in 2018 after a year as a redshirt. The 7-foot-tall Serbian possesses all of the physical tools to be a dominant big man in the Gulf South Conference even in his first season.

Filipovic modeled his game after his favorite player, Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis might be the best European 7-footer in the world right now since Dirk Nowitzki is past his prime, and he is one of the most versatile big men ever. He uses his strength to bully smaller defenders in the low-post, his length to shoot over defenders from mid-range, and his shooting ability and deceptively good handles to be effective even on the parameter.

Filipovic already has the shooting ability and the length to shoot over practically anyone in NCAA Division II, and if he can add some muscle over the course of the next year, Filipovic has a chance to be a dominant force for the Bulldogs.
