The Torch is a literary magazine that is published once a year by the English Department. Published by a group of student editors, the submissions range from in-class presentations to student artwork. Authors will share their poetry, short stories, fiction, creative nonfiction and more later this spring when The Torch is released.

From the content to the design to the editing process, The Torch is an entirely student-driven publication. It is the main way student work from the English department is distributed to the community. Involvement from graphic design students dates back to 1999. Photos of art students’ work adds another visual element. The project gives all students involved the experience working on a high quality product just like real world professionals would.

Any student who wants to participate can send submissions directly to student editors at submittothetorch@gmail.com. The deadline is March 18 at midnight.
