SGA Senate tables bill on punishing vandals on campus

The Student Government Association’s Student Senate on Oct. 2 spotlighted the College Republicans organization.

Logan Brasher, senior music education major, and Ashton Hostetler, junior history major, spoke to senators about the organization’s history and function on campus.

SGA Treasurer Stefan Rabenhorst updated the group on the Senate’s budget thus far in the fall 2013 semester.

Five bills were proposed and only one of these was tabled.

The following bills were passed: a bill to hold staff appreciation days once a semester for dining services; to provide for the allocation of $200 to be used for Alpha Tau Omega’s HalloWeek; to provide for the allocation of $75 to Student Members of the American Chemical Society to provide for the expenses of its originally produced community outreach play; and to provide for the allocation of $200 to Enactus to help with projects and programs for the year.

The tabled bill requested punishment of and future protection from those who vandalize and steal decorations from campus residents.
