Thornbury returns to Union to speak at May 17 commencement

Greg Thornbury will be the keynote speaker for Union’s spring commencement ceremony May 17. Thornbury is president of The King’s College in New York City and former dean of the School of Theology and Missions at Union.

“What a genuine delight it will be to welcome Greg Thornbury back to the Union campus for this year’s commencement service,” said David Dockery, university president. “For 15 years, Greg and Kimberly Thornbury greatly influenced the life of Union University through their investment in students and colleagues.

“I know that the graduates and their families will be abundantly blessed by the insightful words from the commencement address that Dr. Thornbury will deliver on this special day,” Dockery said.

Approximately 650 students are expected to receive degrees.

The commencement will be the last graduation of Dockery’s administration.

The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. May 17 on the Great Lawn.
