Andrew Werner has style, he has class, and he has sass.
Werner comes to Union University from Collierville, Tennessee. He attended Houston High School, where he played in the orchestra.
Werner has been playing the viola since he was in seventh grade. He was also heavily involved in his church youth group at Central Church in Collierville and regularly volunteered on church youth trips.
“Union was always my number one choice in colleges,” Werner said. “Everyone I met at Union was really nice and genuine and it made the decision to come here that much easier.”
At Union, he has joined the orchestra and Alpha Tau Omega. He thoroughly enjoys both and loves being at Union, he said.
Werner is a double major in music and biology. He is still determining what exactly he wants to do upon graduation, but he does know he wants to live in a big city.
Traveling is one of Werner’s passions. He has been to Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Switzerland, Slovenia and Croatia.
His favorite place to visit is the coast of Italy, and his favorite foreign food is pizza from Rome. Werner mostly travels with his family. In addition, he spent two and a half weeks in Germany playing in an orchestra at Hayden Hall.
Werner is a huge fan of soccer, and he follows it regularly and intently. He fully supports Futbol Club Barcelona, but he greatly supported the U.S. soccer team during the World Cup. He loves watching the World Cup and never missed a game on television.
“During the U.S.A. vs. Portugal game, I ran outside of the house screaming when the U.S. scored,” Werner said.
In addition to watching soccer, he also enjoys playing FIFA 2014 with his fraternity brothers.
A few of Werner’s favorite things include his family, Chick-fil-A sandwiches, Will Ferrell, classical music and M&M’s.
