Vegetarians: Beware

Alas, I missed the Chickfila sandwich special (again!), and while my pantry is slimming down, it really doesn’t make sense to go grocery shopping the day before fall break begins.

So, as a treat for another successful newspaper publication night, I decided to head out to the local Quiznos for a speedy dinner.

“Yeah, yeah,” you may think. “Quiznos is old stuff.”

I agree – the sub and salad restaurant isn’t something new to the community. But if you’re like me, you probably stick to your favorite things – the predictable stuff that you know, time after time, is good.

But it could be better. At least, that’s what I hoped when I ordered the Baja Chicken sub on Garlic Focaccia.

And, yes. I was right.

Not to sound like a free advertisement for Quiznos, but this sandwich is simply amazing. It has chicken and bacon layered in cheddar cheese, baja sauce and chipotle mayo.

Top that with lettuce and tomato, and you have a sandwich that’s flavorful with a kick. Given, I’m not a huge fan of spicy things. But this sandwich has just enough spice to make it interesting, but not so much that you feel like your taste buds are singed.

So, next time you’re at one of your favorite food spots, I challenge you to mix things up and try something new. You never know what you’ll be biting into!

Until next time,

Beth
