The Bulldogs go up against the Blazers of Valdosta State Nov. 29 in the Gulf South Conference at the Fred Delay Gymnasium.

The Lady Bulldogs celebrated their first win of the season Nov. 16 against Brevard College (70-50) at the Union Lady Bulldog Classic.

The team fell to Clayton State University the next day with a 66-44 loss.

“I was very excited about the Union Classic,” said Paige Parker, senior education major and guard for the women’s basketball team. “We were all super anxious to get back on the court and kickoff our regular season. Our team is so close, and each person brings all they have every time we step on the court.”

Parker is one of only two seniors on the team this year under the leadership of head coach Mark Campbell and newly assigned assistant coach Kayla Hudson.

“Coach Campbell is a great coach,” Parker said. “He is always reminding us that basketball is our platform to glorify God. He gets the most out of our abilities and emphasizes that our attitude and effort can be controlled no matter the circumstance.”

Seven new players have joined a group of seven returning players to compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II level.

The 2012-2013 roster for the Lady Bulldogs is now complete. The team will be playing from now until March 2.
