A Busy Student’s Best Friend

Out of all of those “necessary” things advertised that college students must buy, one of the few items I’ve been thankful I’ve bought is a Crock-Pot.

Seriously, this genius yet simple item can cook just about anything and requires so little effort. What more could a hungry Unionite ask for?

Lately, I’ve been experimenting with some new ways to use the Crock-Pot, particularly in cooking casseroles. If you’re like me, you are still building your kitchen “wardrobe” and are missing a few things – such as baking dishes. Well, that’s not the end of the world. Throw the ingredients in the Crock-Pot, let it cook for a couple of hours, and all is well.

The only drawback is the time it takes to cook something. But if you have a spare moment in the morning and you’re not anxious for a quick meal, then the Crock-Pot is definitely your best option on those busy days (which seem to just get busier as finals approach – crazy!).

So, I challenge you to see what you can create. Or, better yet, go to Pinterest and find one of the many websites that are devoted solely to Crock-Pot recipes. Delish!

Until next time,

Beth
